UEFA Champions League Preview: Juventus Welcome Manchester United To Turin
The UEFA Champions League continues this week and this coming Wednesday (7 November) sees English giants Manchester United head to the home of Italian league champions Juventus. In addition, Ajax travel to Portugal to take on Benfica while Lyon welcome Hoffenheim in what should be a closely fought affair.
Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the Champions League group stages already well underway, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.
First up, Benfica host Ajax in Group E looking to put some rotten form behind them. The Portuguese giants have won only one of their six previous meetings with Ajax, and furthermore have lost their last three games in a row across all competitions – they current sit fifth in the Primeira Liga, behind the likes of Rio Ave and Braga.
Ajax, in stark contrast, are flying and in excellent recent form, having gone nine matches unbeaten across all competitions, as well as winning their last six on the bounce. They sit second in their national league, five points behind PSV.
Nevertheless, it is Benfica who come into this match as the slight favourites to take the points. You can more than double your money by backing the Portuguese club to pick up a much needed win at 2.50, with Ajax at 3.00 to make it seven wins in a row – a draw would appear to be the least likely result and is priced accordingly at 3.40, according to Oddsshark.
And we are expecting Ajax to continue their recent run. A 1-0 win for the visitors is priced competitively at 10.00, thereby offering a ten-fold return on any investment, while you can more than double your money by backing a “No” to both teams scoring at 2.10.
Juventus look to complete double over Manchester United
In the tie of the night, Italian league championsJuventus welcome Manchester United to Turin. This will be the 14th meeting between the two clubs, with the Italians winning six so far and the Red Devils five.
Last month out the Old Lady recorded an impressive 1-0 win at Old Trafford and will be confident of completing the trick on home soil. Juventus sit comfortably top of Serie A, whereas United are down in seventh in the FA Premier League.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, it is Juventus who come into this match as the overwhelming favourites to collect another three points. The Italians are at just 1.60 to walk away with the win, while United are all the way out at 6.50 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 4.10.
But this should be Juventus’ night. A comfortable, 2-0 win for the Old Lady comes in at 7.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$35 pay out, while you could more than double your money with a combo bet of a Juventus win and a “No” to both teams scoring, which is priced at 2.50.
Lyon host Hoffenheim in tight clash
And finally, Lyon welcome Hoffenheim in what looks to be a close encounter. These two played out a hugely entertaining 3-3 draw last month and while it will be tough for this game to live up to that billing, this is without doubt one of the harder games to try and call.
Hoffenheim however have not won any of their five previous away games in European competition and they are coming up against a Lyon side on a good run of form. The French club are unbeaten in their last four and currently sit fourth in Ligue 1.
The Germans, by way of comparison, are down in seventh but have scored 11 goals in their last four games across all competitions. This tie could well have plenty of entertainment.
And it is home side Lyon who come in as the favourites to take the points. You can double your money by backing the French club for the win at 2.00, while Hoffenheim are out at 3.70 to pick up a valuable away victory – a draw is slightly higher at 3.90.
A 2-1 win for Lyon is priced at 9.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$45 pay out. You could also triple your money by backing a combo bet of a Lyon win and both teams to score at 3.00.
