2018 FIBA 3×3: D’Tigers, D’Tigress Qualify For Quarter-Finals
D’Tigers recorded a 17-16 win over hard fighting Cape Verde in their opening Pool C game on Saturday.
In their second game, D’Tigers were more clinical outscoring Uganda 22-5 in a one-sided affair. Nigeria finished top of Pool C with two wins from two games amassing 39 points.
In the women’s category, D’Tigress also booked a place in the quarter-finals after they recorded two wins in Pool B.
D’Tigress pulled a 17-12 win over Benin Republic in their first game before beating Egypt 20-18. They will face Niger in the quarter-finals.
The FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup competition is an opportunity for teams to earn points that will in the long run help with qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics where the event will make a historic debut appearance.
