62-YEAR-OLD NATIVE DOCTOR ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING A DELSU STUDENT
The Delta State Police Command on Sunday in Asaba, has arrested a 62-year-old native doctor known as Chief Benjamin Nkor with two others over the alleged ritual murder of a 300-level student of the Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) Miss Elozino Ogege some days ago.
The Police Commissioner in the state, Mustapha Muhammad, who disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, said that the investigation done by his men made the native doctor to confess to the crime. Adding that the suspects had been doing money rituals for people since when he was in Abeokuta Ogun State for the past ten years before he relocated to Delta State.
“Gentlemen of the press, the suspects, particularly the native doctor said he specializes in using human parts for money rituals, especially for those who want to get rich quickly,” adding that the suspects were being held for further investigation as they will be charged to court on completion of investigation. Muhammad said,
The prime suspect, Chief Benjamin Akor while addressing the journalist broke down in tears, said, “I have been involved in money rituals for over the years in Abeokuta, Ogun State. I ran away to Delta State for security reasons, I am from Aboh community in Delta State, I was trained by my late father and I stayed with my uncle because I didn’t go to school, I am finished, I have five Children, what will happen to them now? Please police forgive me, the two other suspects got me involved in the business and I charged them N300,000 and they pay part of the money before the incident.”
Muhammad narrated how the victim was deceived into their snare by security guard he said, “The suspects have made useful statements to the police, the police recovered the handset of the victim and investigation is still going on with the hope of arresting more suspects.”
He called on members of the public to be security alert and strive to know the nature of work that their neigbours do for a living. He however, gave assurance to the Delta State residents that the command is on top of security situations of the state and will ensure to bring all perpetrators to book.
