IFE ADEWOLE
Ikechukwu Nwosu, a brother to the deceased Sunday Nwosu, on Friday at Nnewi in Anambra State buried a carved wooden image and pretends to have buried his younger brother who died on the 10th of January 2016. Ikechukwu had been telling everyone that Sunday’s corpse was in the mortuary and that he did not have enough money to bury him.
Surprisingly on Friday, Ikechukwu invited his friends to a funeral service without the approval of his kinsmen; he brought a coffin containing the supposed corpse of late Sunday Nwosu with the instruction that it should not be open.
It was the unexpected visit of their younger sister, who stormed the premises without invitation and forced the casket to be opened without permission that reveals his malicious act, everyone was dumbfounded when they discovered that it was a carved wood that was wrapped and about to be buried.
Despite all efforts, to stop Ikechukwu from burying the wooden corpse, he went ahead and assumed that he has buried his deceased brother.
The indigenes of the village thereby called on the Igwe of Orizu, Nnewi, and the police to arrest Ikechukwu and made him provide his brother’s corpse.
