LAGOSIANS SCOOP GROUNDNUT OIL FROM GUTTER
In a video that has gone viral on the social media, some Lagosians were seen scooping a liquid substance, allegedly said to be groundnut oil, from a gutter in Ebute Ero area of Lagos Island.
Oyinkansola Alabi shared the video on her Twitter handle, @DoctorEmotions, she wrote that a trailer carrying the groundnut oil fell on Friday at Ebute Ero, beside the football pitch.
She said, “A trailer containing groundnut oil toppled over yesterday and Lagosians went ahead to scoop oil from the gutter. A gutter. This oil will be used to cook, This oil will be sold. The ripple effect?”
Alabi later explained that “The viral video I posted was recorded at Ebute Ero beside the football field at Lagos Island on Friday morning the 7th of December by 8:16am.”
In the video, at least four persons were seen standing inside the litter-filled gutter and scooping groundnut oil from it into containers kept on the edge of the gutter. One woman was seen filling plastic bottles with the groundnut oil.
