Olatunbosun Seeks Fresh Start With Plateau United
Plateau United new signing, Sikiru Olatunbosun, is hopeful of making his stay with the former Nigeria Professional Football League champions a memorable one.
Olatunbosun switched modest Lagos club, MFM for Plateau United on Tuesday to start a new challenge following a successful stint with the Olukoya Boys.
The talented forward hugged the headlines after claiming the CNN goal of the week award for his sublime strike in an NPFL clash against Rangers International of Enugu at the Agege Stadium in 2016.
He will compete with fellow new signings, Bernard Ovoke and Godwin Obaje for a starting berth in the team.
“It’s a fresh start for me and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I have some great memories with MFM which will linger with me for a long time, “Olatunbosun told CSN.
“Now, I’m beginning a new journey with Plateau United, one of the best teams in the country and I will give my best to make it a memorable experience.
“There are also a lot of quality players here which is good for the team. As a footballer, you get better by playing with good players and I’m also looking forward to that challenge as well.
Plateau United claimed the NPFL title for the first time in the 2016/2017 season but failed to defend their title last term.
Olatunbosun is however confident they can reclaim the title in the new season.
“If you look around here, there are a lot of quality and tested players in the team which gives one the confidence that we can do well next season,”he added.
“ We just have to continue working hard in training and make sure we are ready for the new season. ”
