HENRY VS VIERA: NO VICTOR NO VANQUISH
Joseph Omoniyi
The game between AS Monaco and Nice on Wednesday ended in a 1-1 draw, but the limelight was on ex-teamates, Thierry Henry, Monaco’s manager and Patrick Viera who manages Nice.
Both managers played over 300 matches as teammates both under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal and with the French national team.
Allan Saint Maximin put the visitors ahead with a low shot from inside the box after easing past Jemerson, exposing Monaco’s weak defence.
Benoit Badiashile headed the equaliser home from a Rony Lopes corner as Monaco made their dominance count following the exclusion of Sacko on the stroke of halftime.
Henry side had to make do without new signing and also former teammate, Cesc Fabregas who was not eligible to play the game.
The draw means Monaco who are second on the league table from the bottom have now gone four matches without a win.
Nice on the other hand are sixth on the ligue1 log.
