GRAMMY AWARD WINNERS’ LIST LEAKS ONLINE; ORGANISERS SAY IT’S FAKE

Read Time:1 Minute, 32 Second

The GRAMMY Awards winners is one of the most tightly held lists in the world. For all intents and purposes, no one but a select group of Recording Academy members knows the winners until the sealed envelopes are opened during the ceremony.

Yet, tonight, it was apparently reported that the GRAMMYs leaked the winners on their own website, which is absolutely unheard of.

See below:

“The Grammy has leaked data on the winners of the 2019 award on January 20, 2019 on the official website. This is not a fake or a joke. Pay attention to this @billboard @PopCrave @PerezHilton@musicnewsfact @chartdata @gagamonster96@billboardcharts RT #Grammypic.twitter.com/01PfgFLMTO

Record of the year apparently goes to “I Like It” from Cardi B, Album of the year goes to H.E.R. by H.E.R…. etc., etc.

However, the GRAMMYs have already responded to the supposed leak, saying with no uncertainty that there is “no legitimacy to this.”

“There is no legitimacy to this. GRAMMYs results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the GRAMMY Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered in sealed envelopes.”

Exclusive statement from #GRAMMYs about the supposed leak:

“There is no legitimacy to this. GRAMMYs results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the GRAMMY Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered in sealed envelopes.”

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards airs Sun, Feb 10 at 5:00 PM PST, from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. While some of the alleged winners may be correct by pure chance, it is not an official leak, according to the Recording Academy.
