TRANSFER DEADLINE: NEWCASTLE SIGNS ANTONIO BARRECA FROM MONACO
Joseph Omoniyi
Newcastle have signed Antonio Barreca and are set to sign Miguel Almiron, reports say they could make more moves.
According to Skysports reporter, Keith Downie, It’s just a matter of time until Almiron is confirmed.
If the deal is done, it will be a record transfer for Newcastle of £21m. He was reported to be at the training ground this morning.
“Barreca is in on a loan deal until the end of the season, costing £1m with the option to make that permanent for £9m.
“We thought Isaac Hayden could be on his way out but it looks as though he could now be staying with Benfica not allowing Andreas Samaris to leave. Things could change though – I’ve certainly not been told that’s business done for Newcastle,” Downie said.
