YINKA AYEFELE
Yinka Ayefele is arguably one of the most popular Nigerian celebrities, home and abroad. He is a music producer, an entertainer and a broadcaster and he has definitely made a big name for himself in all three. He owns a magnificent music house, a world standard radio station and his music are widely accepted beyond South-west and outside the shores of Nigeria, with a Member of the Order of Nigeria, MON and about 200 awards to show for it.
Born 45 years ago in Ipoti-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Ayefele worked briefly as an investigative journalist under the late Kolawole Olawuyi, before his life took a ‘bitter-sweet’ U-turn after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident while on duty, which confined him to a wheelchair till today.
Spending about 9 months on a hospital bed, he was advised by a friend, Kola Olootu to turn his situation into lyrics of songs, which gave birth to his first album, “Bitter Experience” which he released in 1998. The album was widely accepted because of its emotional foundation. Since then, he has released 20 albums.
Ayefele is happily married to Temitope Titilope for 19 years and they are blessed with 3 handsome boys
