AMUNIKE FACES BIGGER TEST AFTER TAKING TANZANIA TO THEIR FIRST AFCON IN 39 YEARS
Joseph Omoniyi
Former Nigerian International and coach of the Tanzania national team, Emmanuel Amunike will face a bigger challenge in the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt despite his recent feat in the qualifier.
Amunike made history, becoming the second Nigerian coach after late Stephen Keshi to guide an African country to the biennial competition.
He delivered the ticket with an emphatic 3-0 win over Uganda on the final matchday inside a packed National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
However, the 1994 nations’ cup winning player will have to help the Taifa Stars break the jinx of not scaling through the first round of the tournament. Their last appearance was in 1980.
