AFCON2019: SUPER EAGLES END INDOMITABLES’ REIGN AS THEY BEAT THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS 3-2 TO ADVANCE TO THE QUARTERFINALS

The Nigeria’s Super Eagles have ousted the defending champions of the African Cup bof Nations, after they beat them 3-2 in the second round of the 2019 edition this saturday.
In a highly dramatic clash between the old rivals, Nigeria went 1-0 ahead in the 19th minute of the first half courtesy of a a goal by Odion ighalo who converted from a close range before Cameroun responded with 2 quick goals from no 9 jersey, Bahoken and Clinton njie in the 41st and 44th minute respectively.
In a twist of tides, the Super Eagles turned the game around in a similar manner with 2 successive goals from Arsenal’s Iwobi and Odion Ighalo who completed his brace, taking his goal tally in the competition to 3.
With the win, the Gernot Rohr sides will now awaith the winner of the game between the host, Egypt and South Africa in the Quarterfinals.
