DAUGHTER OF AFENIFERE LEADER, FASORANTI ALLEGEDLY MURDERED BY HERDSMEN

Reports say Mrs Funke Olakunrin, a 58-year-old the daughter of the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti was gunned dead yesterday allegedly by some Fulani herdsmen in Ore.
According to a report, this might be a targeted assassination and not a random kidnapping attempt by the suspects.
Fasoranti’s daughter was said to be travelling in the vehicle pictured above before she met her death and the young man she was reportedly travelling with said her killers shot at her and ensured she was dead before fleeing the scene. They looked at him at the front of the vehicle, murmured words in a language he didn’t understand and then walked away.
Social commentators are beginning to clamour that this might be a calculated, premeditated murder to send a signal to his aged father over his stance in Yoruba politics lately.
‘Very soon they will parade some people as her killers and you will be shocked at how that’ll be staged to change the narrative’ Maiyegun wrote.
Veteran Journalist and Media Law expert, Richard Akinnola said, “Pending the time when the police are able to ascertain the identities of those who killed Mrs Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere leader, my former principal, pa Reuben Fasoranti today, we need to be circumspect in ascribing it to the Fulani herdsmen. It may be and it may not be. The police need to apprehend the killers within 48 hours in order to calm nerves before the killing degenerates into an ugly scenario.
Meanwhile, l think at this stage, it is premature to ascribe the killing to Fulani herdsmen”.
