AFCON2019: NIGERIA BEAT TUNISIA TO CLINCH THEIR 8TH AFCON BRONZE
Joseph Omoniyi
The Nigeria’s Super Eagles this Wednesday defeated their Tusian counterparts 1-0 to claim the third position of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON 2019 in Egypt.
Odion Ighalo capitalised on a goalkeeping error to kick in a poorly defended ball in the 3rd minute of the first half.
Ighalo who moved his tournament goal tally to 5 as the highest goals scorer was however forced out of the game before the half time whistle due to a hamstring tear.
With the win, Nigeria have now won the tournament’s bronze 8 times, highest by any country.
