The Nigeria Police Force has expressed that it doubts claim by Abuja based social media influencer; Amira Safiyanu, that she was kidnapped along with seventeen other persons from her Abuja home last Tuesday.
In a short statement issues by Force Public Relations Officer (PRO), CSP Muyiwa Adejobi; he said “A Police Interrogate “Victim”
Amira Safiyanu who claimed to have been kidnapped along with 17 others by some policemen at gun point on 14th June, 2022, has been found.
“We have some suspicions about her claims as much as we debunk the kidnap of 17 others. We have some findings to make in order to get a clearer picture of the whole scenario and take proper decision as and at when due. We will keep the general public abreast of our findings as soon as possible.”
Social media sites had gone into a frenzy earlier in the week as Amirah sent a distress tweet that she was “abducted at gun point by criminals with police uniforms and a van from different parts of abuja. They are 17 in numbers, including 3 pregnant women and 2 little kids”.
