FORMER LAGOS ASSEMBLY SPEAKER KINYOMI DIES AT 82
Abayomi Kinyomi, a former speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, passed away at a private hospital in Lagos State’s Festac district.
It was learnt that he passed away at age 82 on Tuesday following a brief illness.
The passing of Kinyomi was characterized as a huge loss by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, in response.
In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, on Wednesday, Obasa made the aforementioned declaration and added that the former Speaker would be missed for his efforts to improve Lagos.
After a brief illness, Kinyomi passed away on Tuesday at the age of 82. She was the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly from January 1992 to November 1993.
Obasa advised the deceased’s immediate family, his friends, and associates to find comfort in the knowledge that one of the reasons they are alive is because of the life of service to humanity that the deceased led.
According to Obasa, Kinyomi led a good life, both personally and professionally, serving Lagos with zeal and dedication. We will always remember his dedication to and passion for Lagos State.
His insight and his contributions to the growth and development of our beloved state will be dearly missed.
I asked that Allah, the Most Beneficial, the Most Merciful, grant him eternal rest and give those he left behind the divine strength to carry on, “I said on behalf of my colleagues in the Lagos State House of Assembly.”
