
BREAKING: COURT SET TO DELIVER JUDGEMENT ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE AGAINST BABA IJESHA

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, is set to deliver judgement in the ongoing sexual assault trial against Nollywood Actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja.
During the previous sitting, Justice Taiwo adjourned the case until July 14 for judgement after the court adopted the final written addresses of the prosecution and witnesses.
Baba Ijesha, faces a six-count charge bordering on the indecent treatment of a minor, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) brought the allegations against him.
On June 24, 2021, the defendant was arraigned. Six prosecution witnesses testified against him during the trial.
Princess, the 14-year-old juvenile, Mrs Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode, a child expert, Dr Aniekan Makanjuola, the Investigating Police Officer, ASP Wahab Kareem, and a policewoman, Insp Abigail Omane, are those that testified against the actor.
The defendant’s case was concluded by the DPP on December 15, 2021, and Baba Ijesha’s defense began on February 17.
