UPDATE: AS BOBOYE OYEYEMI BOWS OUT, BUHARI APPOINTS BIU AS ACTING FRSC CORPS MARSHAL
Following the retirement of Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, Mr. Dauda Biu has been appointed as the Acting Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), with the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.
When Oyeyemi turned himself in to Biu at the FRSC headquarters on Monday in Abuja, he said this.
This was said in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO).
Biu’s appointment became effective on July 24, according to Oyeyemi, who also wished him luck in his new role.
Malam Bukhari Bello, the chairman of the FRSC Board, spoke and congratulated Bello on his appointment while urging him to keep up the pace and make sure that he justifies his appointment.
Bello advised the interim corps marshal to pick up where the old marshal left off, claiming that the former marshal had created a solid foundation for the corps.
Biu expressed his gratitude to the FRSC’s leadership and the presidency for the appointment and promised to defend it.
Biu served as the Deputy Corps Marshal, Finance and Accounts, at the FRSC headquarters prior to his appointment.
He began working with the FRSC in 1988 and has enjoyed a successful career working in several formations.
He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and from 2014 to 2016, he served as Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Finance and Accounts.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Boboye Oyeyemi, a former Corps Marshal of FRSC, announced his retirement on Sunday, July 24.
