BREAKING: GUNMEN KILL THREE, ABDUCTS SIX OTHERS IN TARABA
In the Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, gunmen raided the village of Jouro Manu, where they killed three people and abducted six more.
Residents claimed that on Sunday, at about 2 pm, the attackers rode up on motorbikes and began shooting anybody in their line of sight.
Umar Saidu and Abdullahi Mohammed, two locals, told our correspondent that people were escaping the nearby settlements out of fear of being killed or abducted.
The event was confirmed on Monday and the police were in control of the situation, according to Gambo Bajabu Kwache, acting police public relations officer for the Taraba State command.
“We have the matter under control.” We have sent a deployment to the region to find the attackers, she said.
Hon. Musa Chul, the immediate past chairman of the Gassol local government, had previously highlighted concerns about terrorists reuniting in the nearby woodlands.
