The young Super Falcons – who has played in every edition of the tournament except 2018 – look set to redeem itself in style as it made a fourth quarterfinal in six appearances (2010, 2012 and 2014).

Nigeria dominated the opening minutes of the game, pressing their opponents high and aggressively without the ball while attacking on all cylinders with it.

Blessing Emmanuel finished off Opeyemi’s assist to put Nigeria in the lead in the fifth minute.
Numerous squandered opportunities kept Nigeria from scoring further goals, but their perseverance paid off in the 83rd minute when Bisola Mosaku converted Miracle Usani’s free kick.

Thanks to a VAR check, the referee gave a penalty when Figueroa’s shot was deflected off Omamuzo Edafe’s left hand inside Nigeria’s box. Rovner converted from the spot to restore pull one back in the 93rd minute before the refree ended the game.

Nigeria finished the group in second place with 6 points, three points behind group leader Germany, who defeated New Zealand 6-0 to earn the most points. Nigeria.
