CRIME: GUNMEN STEALS FOUR NEWBORNS FROM HOSPITAL IN ANAMBRA
Four new-born babies have been allegedly taken from a maternity hospital in Nkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, by some unidentified gunmen.
A source in the region confirmed the attack to journalists on Wednesday, but the reason behind the attack is still unknown.
Although the incident’s specifics are still vague, a source in the neighborhood revealed that it occurred late on Tuesday but was only made public to community members on Wednesday.
According to the insider, “It happened in our town on Tuesday night, and since Wednesday morning, people have been talking about it.” They said that some armed men stormed the hospital (name omitted) and abducted four infants.
“According to the information we gathered from the neighborhood inhabitants, neither anyone was hurt nor was anyone killed in the attack.” Nobody knows the reason behind the hospital invasion.
Some claim that the newborns were removed to be sold to parents who were childless, but others assert that it may have been done for ritualistic reasons.
When reached, DSP, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police, stated that the command was not yet aware of the occurrence but would look into it and get back to them.
Ikenga said, “I don’t have such report before me now but I will make findings and get back please.”
