According to sources in Abeokuta, the young man who was hit by a stray bullet on Tuesday is still alive.

Gabriel, the young man, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Idi-Aba in Abeokuta, where he is receiving and responding well to treatment.

Gabriel was hit by a stray bullet during a protest that turned into a riot in Abeokuta’s Sapon area on Tuesday.

Some ancient city residents were protesting the scarcity of fuel and the unavailability of the redesigned Naira notes.

Customers who were dissatisfied vandalized the Guaranty Trust Bank branch in Sapon, Abeokuta.

In a statement on the incident, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that the police are investigating whether or not the bullet was fired by them.

Meanwhile, residents in Abeokuta were seen walking around peacefully and attending to their businesses, according to reports.
