OPINION: NO LOVE LOST BETWEEN TINUBU AND BUHARI
By Adebayo Ilupeju
Let me quickly share my thoughts on this naira redesign policy.
It may seem to have come at the wrong time and that is true but I can tell you that it is a policy that we will eventually come to appreciate. Interestingly, it will change the face of our elections forever and I am happy that for some reason, it is bringing some creativity into the political space.
We cannot eliminate vote buying but we can remove the damaging effects on our economy by removing the naira from the equation.
I cannot drift away from the untold hardship it has brought upon the people, thus if they say it was targeted at a particular candidate, I won’t be surprised; but it may not necessarily be so. Nigeria’s cashless policy has been on for more than a decade but no government has been able to muscle up its implementation.
PMB has done well and for some reason, it is not exactly as the opposition thinks, PMB will not abandon his guy for any reason and I can assure you that there is no love lost between the duo of BAT and PMB.
PMB is laying a foundation for a better tomorrow, and sometimes such efforts will always catch the red eye. Tinubu will have fertile land to implement his policies if things go well and he emerges President.
What do you think, is Buhari witch-hunting anyone with the naira redesign?
