
ALAAFIN’S SON WINS HOUSE OF REPS SEAT FOR THIRD TERM
Akeem, one of the sons of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, has been re-elected into the Federal House of Representatives after winning the Atiba/ Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency election for the third time.
Adeyemi, alias SKIMEH, who currently is representing the federal constituency in the House of Assembly was elected in 2015 and 2019 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The result was announced at the INEC office’s federal constituency collation centre in the Akunlemu area of Oyo East Local Government area, Oyo.

Adeyemi had 34,822 votes overall, defeating PDP’s Mudashiru Akinlabi and Accord’s Oyedemi Oyeleru , who had 31,671 and 13,544 votes respectively.
Yesufu Ademola of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) scored 77 votes, while Ogunniyi Olaoluwa of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) scored 1,951.
