EKITI ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS: APC WINS 23 SEATS, SDP – 2 SEATS

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 23 seats in the state assembly elections in Ekiti State.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State.
Omotayo Babatunde of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) won the Ise/Orun State Constituency with 7,498 votes while Ogunsakin Oladele, also of the SDP won the Ekiti East 1 State Constituency.
“The election at Ido Osi State Constituency 1 is inconclusive. This is due to the fact that the margin of lead principle indicated a need for supplementary elections to be held in 3 Polling Units before a clear winner could emerge. This was born out of violent disruption of the voting process in three polling units of PU 003, PU 012 and PU 014 all in Registration Area (Ward) 01,” Akanmu said.
