
APC’S TONYE COLE CALLS FOR CANCELLATION OF RIVERS GUBER ELECTION
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tonye Cole has called for the cancellation of the March 18th governorship election in the state.
Cole while during a press conference on Tuesday described the outcome of the governorship election as one that turned out to be a rape of democracy.
He said, “Law-abiding citizens were subject to flogging, abuse and threat to life for choosing to vote APC. People were told to vote for PDP and nothing else.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission in the state declared Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Sim Fubara as the winner of the election on Monday.
Fubara had a total of 302,614 votes to defeat Cole who had 95,274 votes.
Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party came third with a total of 22,224 votes.
