After Bishop Oluwafeyiropo Daniel, the founder of I Reign Christian Ministry, failed to appear in court on Monday, his scheduled trial for an alleged rape was postponed.

Justice Ramon Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offenses Court, Ikeja, heard the case, which was ranked as case number four on the court’s case schedule.

However, Mrs. Inumidun Solarin, the police prosecutor, told the court that the suspect was not present.

She mentioned that the officers at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Alagbon, Ikoyi, had released Daniel on bail.

She claimed that the investigating police officer, ASP Yemi Temenu, stated that it was found that he had moved when the police went to his home in Ikota, Lekki.

She requested a break, stating that the pastor was in Abuja for a religious event.

After that, the matter was postponed until April 17, 2023.

During an interview with Hotjist, Tonia Ojenagbon, expressed her joy when she said that she was happy that atleast the case has been mentioned before the court even if the accused didn’t show up.

She added that, with the absence of the accused when the case was called, she knows that he will be presented and justice must prevail.

According to an earlier report, the Lagos State Directorate of public prosecution had ordered the prosecution of Bishop Feyi Daniel for the alleged rape of an assistant pastor in his church and another lady.

The case against him was investigated at the FCID, where some of the victims had made statements.

The case file was forwarded to the DPP last year when the investigation was said to have been concluded.
