KANYE WEST’S NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY CAUSES LAWSUIT DUE TO UNCOVERED VIDEO

A Chicago woman is suing Netflix and the film’s directors Chike & Coodie, claiming they took advantage of her to distribute “Jeen-Yuhs.”
When Netflix made Jeen-Yuhs available last year, fans got a close-up look at Kanye West’s rise to fame. The documentary by Chike & Coodie examined Ye’s early years as a producer attempting to land a deal as a rapper.
The comprehensive film also gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at his 2020 presidential campaign. A new lawsuit against Netflix and the directors has been brought about as a result of the documentary.
According to TMZ, a woman from Chicago is suing both Chike & Coodie and the streaming service because they used video of her dancing in a “altered state” for the documentary.
Cynthia Love, the plaintiff in the lawsuit, made an appearance in Kanye West’s “Through The Wire” music video. Love contends in court documents that Chike & Coodie took advantage of her when they used a lengthy footage of her in the documentary.
She can be seen dancing inside a restaurant at the opening of Ye’s video. Love claims she received $20 in exchange for her cameo. She continued, “I’m in an altered state and not able to give consent” to being recorded. She is also angry that the documentary included extensive footage of her appearance.
Cynthia Love argued that the video showing her dancing with Ye inside the restaurant represents the past, which she has moved past. Love explained that she’s remained sober for 18 years and turned her life around completely. She said that she’s had long-term jobs and repaired relationships that were harmed.
She added that witnessing those moments forced her to relive those days, which she had since put behind her, and that the documentary had disclosed her past to others who were unaware of that period of her life.
Love also alleged in her lawsuit that Coodie contacted her after Netflix broadcast the documentary. She claimed that he contacted her son, saying he thought she had passed away.
As you might expect, making the extra effort might have enabled Netflix and Coodie & Chike to avoid this lawsuit. Love alleges that the video caused her severe suffering and damaged her reputation. For a minimum of $30,000, she is currently looking for Netflix and Coodie & Chike.
More details surrounding the lawsuit soon to come
