FALZ MOCKED BY GOV. EL-RUFAI'S SON FOR UNDERGOING SURGERY ABROAD

Falz’s inability to choose to have treatment in Nigeria has upset the governor’s son.

The prominent rapper and actor Folarin Falana, nicknamed Falz, traveled to the UK for surgery, and Bashir El-Rufai, son of Kaduna State governor and All Progressives Party (APC) chieftain Nasir El-Rufai, made fun of him for it.

After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that necessitated knee surgery in the UK on Wednesday, May 10, Falz posted on social media to appeal for his supporters’ prayers.

The sad incident, in the rapper and activist’s account, occurred in November 2022, although the surgery was performed a week later. He uploaded a video to his Instagram profile with the comment “Current predicament. It’s a whole journey to being 100% back. Say a prayer for me.”

The artist described the entire event in the video. He declared, “Today is November 26, 2022. I’m still missing part of a limb when I walk. I went to play football a few days back on the 23rd and hurt my knee. November 30, 2022, here. I tore my ACL a week or so ago.

To be completely honest, I had no idea what the heck had happened that day. I was just aware of how painful it was. The results of my MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) revealed that my ACL has a complete tear. It has been suggested to me that I have surgery to fix it. After about 1.5 hours. ACL repair was carried out under general + local anesthesia.

Reacting to the post via his Twitter handle, Bashir mocked the rapper for not having the surgery in Nigeria.

He also noted that he was disappointed that a “bona fide human rights activist” like Falz decided to have his surgery abroad. He wrote, “UK? He didn’t go to LASUTH as a bona fide human rights activist? Disappointing.”

He tweeted, “Common knee issue you con Japa but if na big politician wey get cancer and e travel to India for treatment, una go create music video dey abuse dem,” to emphasize his point. You want me to perish just for holding public office? Na him blame say yankee hospital better? You’re crass, right?

While the rapper has declined to address his comments, Bashir has received a barrage of criticism from his supporters.
