Ms Olufunmilayo Brioluwa, a Lagos resident, has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
On Tuesday, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this.
Hundeyin claimed Brioluwa assaulted a police officer during a “stop and search” operation in Oyingbo, Lagos State.
She was alleged to have grabbed the officer’s uniform, “shoving him with all sense of impunity.”
She appeared in front of a magistrate’s court in Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
Brioluwa pled not guilty to the allegations brought against her before Magistrate Alao M.O.
The Magistrate granted the police prosecutor’s request to keep her in custody for 21 days awaiting inquiry.
She was remanded in custody at Kikiri Prison until June 6, 2023, when the case will be tried.
The news came only hours after Afrobeat star Seun Kuti was charged with assaulting a police officer in uniform.
