Hilda Effiong-Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, who broke the cook-a-thon record, spent almost N1.1m on a lunch date with her friends.
Baci’s companion was heard saying in a video clip shared by Instablog9ja that after church service on Sunday, they all went to a restaurant for lunch.
She explained that after placing their items, the total came to N1.1m, which Baci paid.
“Hello everyone, today we went to church to thank God for a successful Cook-a-thon.” We decided to swing over for brunch after service, you guys, we ordered the world, and when our bills arrived, it was N1.1m, we were like, what did we order? But no worries because we were with the world record breaker, so she paid the bill,” Baci’s friend said.
Baci was seen in the video tape with her companions at the restaurant. The receipt was also shown in the video.
According to sources, Baci’s goal at the start of the marathon cooking, which was live on Instagram and YouTube, was to outdo the Indian record holder, who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019, by accomplishing a non-stop cooking target of 96 hours.
Baci, however, went on to create a new global record for non-stop cooking for 100 hours after completing the 96-hour target with sheer tenacity and a raucous throng featuring celebrities cheering her on as she engaged in the cooking.
