U-20: TINUBU CONGRATULATES FLYING EAGLES ON WIN OVER ARGENTINA
President Bola Tinubu has sent a encouraging message to the Flying Eagles of Nigeria after their remarkable 2-0 victory against host country Argentina at the ongoing Under 20 World Cup.
Tinubu who was impressed by the win took to twitter to show support for the Ladan Bosso boys.
He said, “I congratulate our marvellous Flying Eagles for that sound 2-0 defeat of the host team, Argentina, to secure a quarter final slot at the U-20 World Cup. I’m rooting for you guys, go and make us proud!”
Head coach Bosso, has however insisted that his team’s performance against the host nation was no “big deal.”
Nigeria entered the game as the underdog and was under a lot of pressure from the passionate home supporters, but they held their ground and advanced to the quarterfinals.
While the victory may have come as a surprise to many, Coach Bosso maintains his composure, showing that the triumph may not be as significant as it first appears.
“We had a game plan against Argentina and we stuck to it. Beating Argentina is no big deal,” Bosso said after the game.
