JUST IN: BARAU EMERGES DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT
Senator Jibrin Barau from Kano State has been returned unopposed as the Deputy Senate President of Senate of the 10th National Assembly.
Senator David Umahi of Ebonyi had nominated Barau for the position, which was seconded by Senator Saliu Mustapha of Kwara State. Senator Jibrin Barau then accepted the nomination.
In the absence of any other nomination, the Clerk of the National Assembly pronounced Jibrin as the Deputy Senate President.
Jibrin went ahead to take his oath of office and allegiance at about 10.03am
