KCEE’S OJAPIANO SOARS TO TOP OF NIGERIA’S TOP MUSIC CHART
By Adeniyi Onaara
KCee’s ‘Ojapiano’ has maintained its meteoric rise to the top of the charts.
KCee is one of the musicians whose music has gone beyond the surface, contributing to the growth and expansion of the Nigerian music industry.
Known for his brilliant evolution, KCee has continually reinvented himself through a robust interaction with the music of South Eastern Nigeria, resulting in a brilliant fusion of elements, the most recent of which is ‘Ojapiano,’ in which he combines the historic Igbo flute with South Africa’s Amapiano sound.
In the most recent edition of Turntable Top 100 (June 9 – 15, 2023), Nigeria’s sole aggregate (Radio, TV, and Streaming) chart system, KCee’s ‘Ojapiano’ soared 25 places to NO. 1 as he records his first chart-topper since the inception of the aggregate chart.
Seyi Vibez’s ‘Hat-Trick’ rises three spots to No. 2, while Asake’s ‘Amapiano’ feat. Olamide falls three spots to No. 3, Zinoleesky’s ‘A1 (Feeling Disorder)’ continues at No. 4, and Rema’s ‘Charm’ falls two spots to No. 5.
Olamide’s ‘New Religion’ feat. Asake falls four spots to No. 6, Davido’s ‘Feel’ falls one position to No. 7, Seyi Vibez’s ‘Dejavu’ debuts at No. 8, CKay’s ‘Hallelujah’ feat. Blaqbonez continues at No. 9, and Davido’s ‘Unavailable’ with Musa Keys remains at No. 10.
