
UPDATE: GOVERNOR ABBA YUSUF SWEARS-IN 17 COMMISSIONERS

17 commissioners have been sworn in by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf with the instruction to exercise caution when carrying out their main responsibilities.
On Monday, the ceremony took place at the Government House in Kano.
In his request that they not betray his confidence, Yusuf stated that their nomination was based on their character and qualifications.
The commissioners’ portfolios comprised the following:
The Ministry of Local Government, Haruna Doguwa, the Commissioner for Education, Ali Bukar-Makoda, the Commissioner for Water Resources, and Dr. Abubakar Yusuf, the Commissioner for Health, are all under the direction of the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo.
Other commissioners are Muhammad Diggol for transportation, Haruna Dederi for justice, Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata for higher education, and Marwan Ahmad for works, housing, and infrastructure.
Abbas Sani Abbas, Hamza Safiyanu, Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud, Musa Shanono, and Hajiya Ladidi Garko all started their new positions as commissioners for commerce and investment, rural affairs, agriculture, budget and planning, and culture and tourism, respectively.
Adamu Kibiya is the commissioner for land and survey; Tajuddeen Othman is in charge of science and technology; Baba Dantiye is in charge of information; Sheikh Tijjani Auwal is in charge of religion; and Aisha Lawal is in charge of women’s issues.
