EID-EL-KABIR CELEBRATION: JIBRIN BARAU URGES NIGERIANS TO PRAY FOR PEACE IN THE NATION
Jibrin Barau, the deputy president of the senate, congratulated Muslims on Eid-El-Kabir and urged Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he develops policies and initiatives to improve the nation’s fortunes.
On Wednesday, Senator Barau urged all Muslims to pray for Allah’s blessing for the nation’s peace, harmony, security, and economic growth.
The Kano legislator also assured Nigerians that the current administration was committed to turning around the nation for the good of all.
He said, “As we all know, this season reminds us to place our faith in the compassion and wisdom of Allah and to be obedient to His instructions, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim. To be true Muslim is to adhere to the principles of peace, tolerance, justice, and charity.
“As we are enjoined by Allah, let us be our brothers’ keeper by sharing our worldly goods with them. This is the spirit of this season. Let’s put a smile on the faces of our brothers.
“Also, let us in the spirit of this season, irrespective of our faith, rededicate ourselves to the dreams and aspirations of building a strong, united, economically sound, and politically stable country.
“At the parliament, as assured by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, we will come up with legislation that would assist the Executive in addressing the challenges facing the country, ” the Deputy Senate President said, expressing optimism that better days ahead.
For his part, Senator Gbenga Daniel, who represents the Ogun East Senatorial District, urged Muslims to remember the lesson of sacrifice that the holiday of Eid ul-Kabir symbolizes.
In his Eid-el-Kabir statement, the senator conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes to all Muslims worldwide, particularly those in Nigeria, and urged people to consider the sacrifice, love, and unity that the celebration stands for.
Daniel emphasized how crucial it was to use the occasion to promote harmonious coexistence between those of various religions and backgrounds. He urged people to embrace the virtues of kindness and charity by lending a helping hand to those in need this holiday season and to the less fortunate.
According to him, “Eid Ul Adha is not just a celebration of pomp and pageantry with plenty of meat, rice and stew, it speaks to the significance of sacrifice and trust in the directive of Almighty Allah.
“I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration of core obedience to His will and urge us all to emulate the dedication of the Prophet, especially as it concerns our country. Barka da Sallah!”
Senator Daniel emphasized the need for harmony and unity, urging Nigeria’s Muslims to unite and foster a peaceful environment while emphasizing the significance of peaceful coexistence. In order to show thankfulness to Almighty Allah throughout the festival period and to respect the various religious practices within their communities, he asked for a balanced celebration.
In addition to thanking the Muslims in the Ogun East Senatorial District for their continuous support and prayers, Daniel reaffirmed his commitment to standing up for the interests of all people in the pursuit of a higher quality of life.
