SECURITY UPDATE: LUCKY IRABOR OFFICIALLY BOWS OUT OF SERVICE
General Lucky Irabor (ret. ), the former Chief of Defense Staff, has formally left the Nigerian Armed Forces.
At a ceremony held on Friday at the Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja, he submitted his resignation.
The military has a custom to honor departing generals, and that custom includes the draw-out ceremony. The ceremony included a march-past by Nigerian Army officers, among other things. The event was attended by former Chiefs of Defense as well as members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Staff.
Irabor was named CDS in January 2021 and retired along with other members of the service on June 19 after President Bola Tinubu named new service chiefs.
