BLAQBONEZ’S – ASAKE USED TO BE MY BACKUP SINGER
By Adeniyi Onaara
Fast rising pop artiste Emeka Akumefule aka Blaqbonez has reminisced about how Asake used to be his backing singer before he rose to fame.
He stated that he had known Fireboy, Asake, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, and Zamorra since they were students at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ife, Osun State.
The ‘Sex over love’ singer revealed that Zamorra and Asake used to help him out in the studio with background vocals.
BlaqBonez said this during a recent interview with reality personality Kimoprah on Hip TV’s Trending.
“I’ve known Fireboy, Asake, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, and Zamorra since OAU days,” he stated.
“Zamorra and Asake have always been great at backups. You know this thing Asake does now with his vocals, he has understood this thing from time.
“So, I used to ask him to help me figure out these things. They’ve always been influential in my music journey because I feel like every phase of BlaqBonez helped build the BlaqBonez that I am now”.
