NOLLYWOOD ACTOR JIM IYKE OPENS UP ON HIS FAILED MARRIAGE
By Adeniyi OnaaraĀ
He admits to prior faults that led to the breakdown of his marriage.
In a new interview, Jim Iyke confesses that he has had two marriages fail on his account.
The prominent Nollywood actor appeared as a guest on the popular podcast With Chude, where he discussed a number of topics, including his failed marriages, which he blamed on himself.
“I had a failed marriage, but no one knows about it.” I have three children. My marriage failed as a result of my actions. I’m not the sort to blame others for my faults. According to the veteran, “to boss up, own up.”
He revealed the transformations he went through within himself and his demeanor after the death of his mother, who was his support.
During this period, he revealed, his sister was getting married and his wife was expecting his first child.
Because he didn’t know how to grieve properly, the actor channeled his anguish into becoming a “proper stay-at-home dad,” entirely ignoring his wife.
“I didn’t grieve all the way through her death and burial,” Jim says. But by the time I began to grieve, my wife was pregnant with my first child, and I wasn’t as loving as I should have been….After my son was born, I became an obsessive father…I focused all of my love and care on our son and abandoned her.
I gave all of my love and attention to my son and abandoned her; I was a wonderful father but a terrible spouse.”
After his wife told him she could no longer sense his presence and left him, the red cap chief took it upon himself to speed his healing process. However, they parted as friends.
