
SANWO-OLU CONGRATULATES TINUBU ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS ECOWAS CHAIRMAN

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his election as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States.
Sanwo-Olu described the event at the 63rd Ordinary Session on Sunday in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, as a significant affirmation of Nigeria’s leadership in the West African sub-region and the African continent in a statement dated 10 July 2023 and signed by Tinubu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile.
He noted that his colleagues’ trust in President Tinubu to lead the key coalition will materialize in effective collaboration and realistic solutions to economic growth concerns, issues of transborder security and sustainable development.
On behalf of the residents of Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu said, “We have absolute confidence that you will perform exceptionally well in your new role as the Head of the significant regional organization and we are pleased to be associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this remarkable achievement as the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).”
