
NAIJA SUPER 8: KATSINA UNITED’S 2-1 VICTORY COMPOUNDS ENYIMBA WOES
Enyimba suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Katsina United in their Naija Super 8 Group A encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Tuesday.
Two second half goals from Ibrahim Yahaya and Nazifi Yahaya was enough to secure all three points despite late minute scare from Enyimba.
Ibrahim Yahaya who was named the man of the match scored opened the scoring with his superb strike from outside the box in the 52nd minute and Nazifi doubled the lead with a penalty kick four minutes later.
Abdullahi Fatala of Enyimba scored an excellent free kick in the 89th minute to give his team a chance to put pressure on Katsina United, but they were unable to take advantage of the six minutes additional time, ending their group games with two losses in three matches.
The NPFL Champions are now last in group A after the loss, behind Sporting Lagos, Remo Stars, and Katsina United.
Katsina United’s last game comes on Thursday against Sporting Lagos, who earlier today defeated Remo Stars.
