On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, a Family Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, issued a remand order for skit creator Maruf Abdullahi, or “Trinity,” to the Agodi correctional facility for allegedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.
The magistrate, Mrs. P. O. Adetuyibi, ruled that the child’s parents, Abdullahi, 31, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife Rofiat Ahmed, 29, should remain on detention in Agodi. The subject was postponed until August 3 for mention by Adetuyibi.
According to a source, the police have accused Abdullahi and the victim’s parents of conspiring to commit sexual abuse and exploitation. Insp. Oluwakemi Arowosaye, the prosecution’s attorney, had earlier informed the court that Abdullahi, Ahmed, and his wife Rofiat were accused of conspiring to commit sexual abuse.
According to Arowosaye, “Trinity” is suspected of sexually abusing and exploiting a 10-year-old girl in the Kuola neighborhood of Ibadan on December 17, 2022. According to the police, the offense violated Section 35 (1) of the Oyo State Child Rights Law 2006 and was penalized under Section 35 (2).
Additionally, according to her, it is against section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
