CRIME: POLICE INTERCEPT LARGE CACHE OF ILLICIT DRUGS, ARREST SUSPECTS
Along the Mushin-Isolo route, men of the Aswani Division of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted what they believe to be Indian hemp.
This was contained in a statement signed on Monday, by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, of the state’s Command.
The drugs were discovered in the vehicle driven by Fidelis Otiga and Chukwuma Kennedy, who were both arrested after the stop and search, which took place on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at around 2356 hours.
In a Toyota Sienna with the license plate KJA 118 HV, illegal substances with a street value of Thirteen Million Naira (N13,000,000.00) were being transported.
Since then, the suspects and evidence have been brought to the Command’s main office for additional investigation and legal action.
In the meantime, CP Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police for Lagos State, promises the public once more that there will be sufficient security for lives and property as well as a persistent effort to combat the threat of drug addiction and usage in Lagos State.
