PSG COULD LAUNCH RECORD BID FOR OSIMHEN AMID MBAPPE TRANSFER SAGA
By Oduola. F.A.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly planning a transfer swoop for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Mbappe, should they be successful at offloading him.
The French giants have put the 24-year-old up for sale after refusing to sign a new deal, with his contract set to expire next summer.
Mbappe was left out of PSG squad for their pre-season tour of Japan in a clear indication that the club are ready to offload the forward.
The club hierarchy believes the France international has already agreed to join Real Madrid for free in 2024, thus PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has no intention of losing him for nothing.
Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal have submitted a world-record transfer bid of £259m for PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.
Three Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester united and Tottenham have all enquired contacted PSG about the possibility of the deal. European sides, Barcelona and Inter Milan are also part of teams exploring the deal.
If PSG succeed in offloading Mbappe to Al-Hilal, it is anticipated that they will use a substantial portion of the received funds to finance a blockbuster move for Osimhen.
The Parisians have already had a €100 million bid for the Nigerian international rejected by Napoli, who can only be tempted to sell if a substantial offer is made.
However, PSG seem determined to acquire the Super Eagles striker and could be prepared to significantly improve their bid to persuade Napoli to part ways with Osimhen.
Osinhen, however seems to be keen on continueing in Naples and has already resumed pre-season training with the Italian club.
