MAN CITY AGREE £78m DEAL FOR RB LEIPZIG’S JOSKO GVARDIOL
By Oduola F.A.
Manchester City have agreed a £78million deal for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.
The deal would not be a record deal for a defender with Harry Maguire costing Manchester United £80m in 2019.
Manchester City see the 21-year-old as a force who can be around for the next decade and his arrival should be confirmed in the coming days.
It was reported on Tuesday that Pep Guardiola’s side want to get the transfer over the line before their Community Shield showdown with Arsenal on Sunday.
The left-footed Center-Back has been coveted by a number of top clubs, insluding Chelsea and Tottenham, who both wanted to sign him last year.
Gvardiol’s old club in Croatia, Dinamo Zagreb, are set to received 20% of the transfer fee, which would represent major income for the country’s biggest club.
