JUST IN: APC APPOINTS GANDUJE AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has elected former Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as its National Chairman and Dr. Ajibola Surajudeen Basir as National Secretary.

The two party officials were elected on Thursday, at the 12th NEC meeting of the APC held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Addressing party officials shortly after his election, Ganduje praised the President and assured them that internal democracy would reign supreme in the party throughout his tenure.

The former Kano governor promised to keep a scientific register of party members and to prioritize election management and conflict resolution.

During party primaries, he promises an equal playing field for all party members.

Ganduje promised to hit the ground running in order to achieve the party’s victory in the upcoming governorship elections across the country.

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, party chieftains in the National Assembly, and others attended the NEC meeting.

The President told the party’s 12th National Executive Committee that the APC had won the elections and that it was now time to fulfill the promises of good government made to the Nigerian people.

The President reiterated that the elections in 2023 would be the best in Nigerian history.

Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were visibly absent from the NEC meeting. Bisi Akande, the party’s first National Chairman, was present.
