ANGRY MOB BEATS POLICEMAN INTO COMA, FOR PUSHING DRIVER INTO BRT LANE
An angry mob has beaten an unidentified police officer into a coma following an incident involving a man named Yusuf.
Reports say that the incident took place in the Ketu area of Lagos State.
Eyewitnesses present at the scene said law enforcement officers, including the unidentified policeman, were involved in an attempt to seize possession of Yusufās vehicle. The encounter took a wrong turn when Yusuf was allegedly forced onto the path of an oncoming BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) bus, resulting in a collision that left him unconscious and gravely injured.
An observer, who preferred to remain anonymous, levelled blame at the police officers, insisting that their actions directly led to Yusufās distressing predicament, reports The Punch.
She revealed that the officers had endeavoured to remove Yusuf from his vehicle, inadvertently sending him into the treacherous BRT lane. This resulted in an inbound BRT bus ploughing into Yusuf.
Another onlooker recounted how the officers, realising the result of their actions, hastily attempted to elope. Noticing this, an outraged mob overpowered the officer at fault, beating him to unconsciousness.
It was learnt that as the crowd gathered, individuals attempted to revive Yusuf, using water and other means to resuscitate him. Also, members of the Ketu Divisional Police Station were at the scene in an effort to restore order and attend to the uncoscious officer.
