NPFL: IKE SHORUNMU TAKES OVER AS ABIA WARRIORS’ GOALKEEPER COACH
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu has been named the goalkeeper coach for Abia Warriors Football Club.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Monday at the club’s Secretariat in Umuahia, led by the newly appointed Chairman of the NPFL side, John Obuh.
Obuh emphasized the decision to bring Shorunmu on board was rooted in the veteran’s extensive experience and proven track record in goalkeeping.
He expressed optimism that Shorunmu’s addition would significantly contribute to the coaching team’s capabilities and ultimately benefit the club.
In his response, Ike Shorunmu conveyed his commitment to joining Abia Warriors and expressed confidence in the team’s potential for success in the upcoming season.
A statement from the Abia Warriors Media Team, represented by Mr. Igwe Onuoha, described this development as “very exciting.”
Governor Alex Otti recently appointed Obuh, a former Flying Eagles head coach, to lead the Abia Warriors Management team, aiming for more efficient management and improved performance.
