MOHBAD: RRS PATROLS PARTS OF LAGOS AS PROTESTERS EXTORT, HARASS RESIDENTS
Following the extortion and violence used against the public by groups claiming to be peacefully protesting the death of 25-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba a.k.a MOHBAD on Tuesday, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has instructed the Commander of RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi to lead his squad on convoy patrol to areas where the violence was reported.
According to a report sighted, the individuals caused violence in Ketu, Ikorodu, Elegushi Beach, Admiralty and Lekki Toll Gates, while harassing road users.
The report reads, “The individuals caused violence yesterday night in Ketu, Ikorodu and Lekki Toll II. They harassed road users before the police dispersed them.”
“Areas visited by the team include Ikorodu, Ketu, Elegushi Beach, Admiralty and Lekki Toll Gates.
“CSP Egbeyemi stationed some patrol teams in some of the areas to maintain orderliness.”
Recall that some groups had earlier planned to peacefully protest the death of the young former Marlian signee, but was cancelled on request by the CP.
Meanwhile, hundreds of youths in Ogun State on Wednesday, stormed the streets of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in a peaceful protest, demanding justice over what they described as “the mysterious death” of the Nigerian singer.
Mohbad passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, and was buried the next day.
