ARMY RENOVATES PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE FOR LAGOS COMMUNITY
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has commissioned the newly renovated and remodeled Primary Health Centre as well as Health Equipment in Isheri, Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
At the occasion which took place yesterday at the Secretariat, Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area, the Chief of Army Staff emphasised that the Nigerian Army has embarked on an elaborate quick impact projects in several communities aimed at providing the desired necessary succor to the people in areas of their needs, in a bid to further strengthen our relationship with the beneficiary communities. Adding that this has over time contributed significantly to the Nigerian Army’s efforts towards tackling and containing the complex security challenges facing the Nation, particularly through the non-kinetic approach.
Representing the COAS, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army Major General Muhammed Usman further said that the Chief of Army Staff’s Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects was particularly introduced to provide support to communities of serving Senior Officers of the Nigerian Army across the country, who through dedication to duty and service to the nation have risen to the enviable rank of Major General, with the objective of complimenting the existing basic amenities, services and infrastructures in such communities.
The COAS also added that, “it is therefore heartwarming that we are here today to commission one of such projects Egbe, Idimu Local Council Development Area in honour of Major General Sunday Araoye.”
General Lagbaja however seized the opportunity to thank and appreciate the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continuous strategic guidance and invaluable support to the Nigerian Army
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area Honourable Kunle Sanyaolu who expressed his appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the laudable project said that the Military is only known for the provision of security for the populace but has taken a step forward in assisting his LCDA with this laudable facility.
Honourable Kunle described the Primary Health Centre as a more or less a private hospital, as he assured that the facilities will be maintained and put into good use for the benefit of the people.
In his welcome address earlier, the project Executor, Major General Sunday Araoye who expressed his profound gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for giving him the opportunity to impact positively in the lives of people in his community.
